SF / RON TURNER
I came back from New York to San Francisco. Here’s legendary Underground Comic publisher Ron Turner, founder of Last Gasp Eco-Funnies. Ron is kind enough to host my artworks that were too big to ship to Turkey. He’s a hero to all us artists and fans.
SF / RANDOM FACES & JOHN
People I encountered on planes, including John – “Don’t let my mild-mannered exterior fool you” – who wanted to open a casino in Turkish Cyprus. He tried for years, but the government blocked him.
SF / LAURA’S FRIENDS
Visiting Laura in SF, who I’d also met at the Kybele Hotel. Rayan, Laura, Leslie & I were a sort of harem there.
SF / LAURA IN PAJAMAS
Here’s lovely Laura on her 36th Birthday. Now married and living on a renovated farm in upstate New York.
LA / ÜSTÜN RELAXING
Back in LA, here’s handsome Üstün. A native of Istanbul, he was living in Santa Monica, loved movies & music & all things cultural. He later returned to Turkey.
LA / WITH MY SISTERS
Jenni and Penny, and my feet. At that point, after a long time in the hospital, I was very glad there were two of them, feet and sisters. Those sisters were very patient as I had no home, couldn’t yet live alone, and couldn’t yet move to Turkey.
LA / FAMILY TIME VENOLA
Jenni and our brother Richard holding his youngest daughter Natasha, now grown-up and gorgeous, while Penny’s daughter Sasha makes a feast for us all. The four of us siblings hadn’t all been together in years.
